Most of our dual pump assemblies made after 2014 are eligible for upgrading to triple pumps. If you are unsure of whether your pump assembly can be upgraded, please send us a picture of the top of the flange.
Since the pump manufacturer does not have a warranty on fuel pumps, and they are relatively low cost replacment items, we will not test fuel pumps. The triple upgrade is essentially purchasing parts to replace certain parts to accommodate a third pump.
The upgrade process is relatively straightforward. Before upgrading to a triple pump setup, ensure your current system is operating properly and efficiently. In most cases, a dual pump setup should be capable of 1000 whp on E85, so perhaps consider taking a closer look at how your current system is operating before upgrading to three pumps. We often see people wanting a triple upgrade with injectors that don't have the capacity for the third pump. (in that case, upgrade the injectors first)
You will need the following: (go to UNIVERSAL PARTS > Replacement / Service Items)
- Triple pump flange (that will include the wiring for three pumps and any other OE sensors)*
- Triple pump bracket (most will use 37-301)
- Fuel pump of your choice, with new prefilter
- Cartridge adapter that fits the pump you chose, most will use 37-003-1
- A new hardware pack is recommended
Additionally, we recommend the following:
- Replace the current pumps, as these are wear items. (new prefilters as well)
- Clean or replace the inline fuel filter
- Cartridge wrench set
Lastly, you need to make sure your current infrastructure is capable of supporting the third pump. You may need an electrical upgrade, upgraded lines, re-arrange the hose routing or fitting types/sizes, alternator and/or battery upgrade, and you may need provisions to stage the pumps.
*The flange number correlates to the first two digits of the original pump assembly. For instance, all fuel systems for C5 and C6 Corvettes start with "38-" so you would choose "Flange 38-1 triple". Here is a reference guide for the part number prefixes and their respective applications:
